Charlotte went into her marriage with her eyes open, and she got exactly what she expected. Compared to the alternative--being forever supported by her family, eventually by a brother, and putting up with his wife, and always being an outsider in someone else's home--she got an excellent situation. She will one day be the mistress of Longbourn and reign over her patch of Hertfordshire. She never wanted the grand romance, and if she had waited for one, she would have ended a bitter woman. She had few prospects, and grabbed at the only marriage she was ever likely to get. Because she got what she had expected and hoped for, I think she will be perfectly happy.
