With her non-intervention, the same could be said for Knightley with Emma and Frank, Anne with Sir Walter and Mrs. Clay, Darcy with Lizzy and Wickham.
Like Kathleen said, Fanny only suspected that Maria was marrying for the wrong reasons and prefered Henry--she did not know that there would be problems.
