] When I first read P&P I hated Darcy. I thought he just would not leave Elizabeth alone. I was yelling at my copy telling him to stop stalking her. Boy did I have blinders on. I was also taken with Mr Wickham. I fell for him like cinderblocks.

When I first read teh novel, I too loathed Darcy. I thought him a supercilious prig; I nearly cried when Elizabeth agreed to marry him (I thought he would give her ahard time of it) and I didn't even read the reconcilation chapter for ages. It took eight years and three readings for me to like him-it took three more readings for me to love him. Not at all like Henry Tilney, whom I loved right off.
