That once you start this book you cannot put it down. From Mrs Bennet telling her husband about the new tenants to Elizabeth being only Tolerable.

One thing that sucks me in deeper is the tone that Jane Austen uses. Very lady like, very prim and proper, but she just sets everything up just so and bam!! she throws you for a loop!! Her scathing portrayl of middle class England during the 18th century is brilliant and noone else could capture it.

After reading the book several times as you start to understand the characters better, you really understand why Austen has them do what they do.

When I first read P&P I hated Darcy. I thought he just would not leave Elizabeth alone. I was yelling at my copy telling him to stop stalking her. Boy did I have blinders on. I was also taken with Mr Wickham. I fell for him like cinderblocks.
