Yes, Kate. I was really struck by this passage, too. It is a wonderful account, exhilarating in itself. This book is so much about the glories of language, it seems so appropriate that she speaks directly of it, and at the same time melds it so seamlessly into Rolands own dealings with language.
I agree about the heady discussion, too.
