In response to Help - I would like to join your group read , written by Constanza on November 12, 1997 at 14:06:24
] I am new at Pemberley and have just learnt of your group readings. I would like to join you but I donīt know how to do it. I have never been in this kind of groups before so I am a complete ignorant about rules, proceedings and so on. Could you help me? I think the new book is Pride and Prejudice: do you go a chapter at a time? Where do you discuss it? Please, give me a few tips!!!

welcome!
The way we run our reads really depends on the book. However, usually someone develops a discussion schedule. You can find the schedule by clicking on "reading schedule" at the top of the page. This will tell you which chapters we are discussing during a particular week. We usually discuss a section of the book at a time. If someone has read beyond that section and wants to post something about it they put *spoiler* in their subject heading so other readers who haven't moved so far don't read it. When you do the reading is up to you entirely.
As to posting and responding, just jump right in. If there's something you want to say, just say it, or respond to what other people say. We don't have many rules, except that we try to be nice to each other, and treat other people's ideas with respect.
Right now we are in the last week of our read of AS Byatt's Possession, so you might like to start preparing for the next read which is of our much beloved Pride and Prejudice.
so go to it!
