I realize I am coming into this a little late in the game, but I am doing an essay for a women's study class called By and About Women and I am looking to share some ideas about female friendships (positve and negative)that Jane had thoughout the novel. In my essay I am referring to Jane Eyre, Sula, and The Lives of Girls and Women and I am to discuss what aspects the authors are bringing into focus with regards to female friendships.
