I must write of Dr Beatrice Nest. I cannot and will not allow her to be what she already believes of herself: a person no one considers.
Beatrice is the keeper of secrets, long ago she entered into a conspiracy with Ellen Ash not to tell. She has the surest moral compass-she's the only one who thinks the box should be put back into the grave unopened. No one pays her any notice of course, then again she knew they wouldn't but saying the words was necessary. And her point should be considered: the privacy of death should be inviolate. Beatrice at the gravesite is a fury, alive in her convictions even as she believes her life to have passed her by.
