Austen and Bronte

Just to keep an old controversy alive...

I was reading a book the other day (I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith of 101 Dalmatians fame - and heartily recommended it) - where one of the characters posed the question, "Would you rather have Jane with a touch of Charlotte, or Charlotte with a touch of Jane" (Austen and Bronte, rather than Bennet and Lucas, which is an entirely different kettle of fish)

What would be your preferred combination? I think that it would be very difficult to introduce Bronte-style passion to Austen's world: it would be too fundamental a challenge to her balanced system. But it is a lot easier to add some Austen-style calm to Bronte - maybe you end up with the second generation in Wuthering Heights?
