] I've always put this down to Christabel becoming a bit delusdional as the pregnancy continues.

As I switched gears to bone up on the women poets, I ran across a tidbit about Christina Rossetti. Apparently, one year of her life is missing (1857-1858). Her family totally closed up on this one and her biographer has guessed that Christina was a little "mad" during that year. Now, I'm not implying that she was also pregnant...God forbid, this woman was often referred to as a "pale, passive, Virgin Mary." She was way tooo religious to think or do any such thing. Her brother Dante used her as a model for Mary (I think). Vestal virgins, hmmmmmm. Need to do more research.

Another thing, when she resurfaced after that year, she wrote her greatest poem, "Goblin Market."
