Stillness in women was a virtue for Victorians. Also, despite the long skirts and corsets many women still managed; my father's great grandmother was the all around tennis champion in 1870 at her club even in her corsets. She beat four men including one in straight sets.
] Another also: it wasn't "done" to use makeup. So you went on your unaided assets, but so did all the other women around you.
But there were aids. There were bust improvers and hip improvers, all manner of hairpieces and there were even some cosmetics. These were applied with a light hand, a little oil on the eyelashes to darken them and some others which were okay as long as you didn't look 'painted'.
