BTW, in the old Scandanavian myth, Ask (Adam) is fashioned
from an ash tree. RHA is the big mystery man of this novel--at least to me. As I've mentioned before, three of the four major characters are named after famous poems from the period. Not so our Randolph--or so my research has garnered no results. I have my thoughts on the subject, but it may be premature.
