Ask to Embla

She does. She somewhere says that they are from the Ragnarok poem and that Ask is Adam and Embla is Eve, in old Icelandic lore.

Perhaps she didn't write these poems because they are supposed to be so incredible and she couldn't do them justice (although that didn't stop her from writing reams of others...). Or to keep them a lovely mystery.
