] How about Niamh Cusack for Maud? She's a very intelligent blonde actress who was in "Heartbeat" which was a series about an English couple in the 1960s - she was a doctor and he was a policeman. Did that ever come to the States? If not, you guys REALLY missed out (again...)
] And I like Hil's suggestion of Rachel Grifiths as well. Bizarrely, and this will not recommend her to anyone, she played one of the (American, even tho she's an Aussie) bitchy cousins of the bride in My Best Friend's Wedding (did anyone know that this was directed by the Aussie director of Muriel's Weddiing)
