] I don't know her name, but the actress I see as Val played Scarlett (no, not O'Hara), Hugh Grant's roomie in "Three Weddings and a Funeral." Don't ask me why, but I just see her with that chopped off hair, kind of retro-outrageous dressing (pre-Euan). Maybe it was the messy lifestyle they led that kind of reminded me of her.
] BTW, the Richardson sisters have both the hair and the height to be Maud.
] Also, the main action between Christabel and Randolph took place when he was 41 years old and she was 34. If that helps any in casting.
I want to go with actors who are a bit older than the Victorian characters actual ages in the book because people wher supposed to be and act older than we think of 41 and 34 now.
Also, I like your choice for Val. I just wish we knew her name. I'll check her on one of the video web pages and post it later. I've always thought of Val as being one of those small women who when seen from behind look as if they are still schoolgirls and this actress has that quality. She also smart and the right sort of voice.
