I did like Morpho Eugenia, although some of the moth tale was endless, and the ant natural history was a bit tedious. I had a hard time with the seance tale, though. Creepy and boring. I read Babel Tower and was disappointed, although I still admire Byatt's language.
Haven't seen the film, but I hear it's excellent. Good cast...any Mauds in there? Hmmm.
PS: Have you read any reviews of Fairy Tale? It has elements eerily akin to some things in Possession: Turn-of-the-century obsession with the spirit world (although it takes place during WW1), fairies, seances, bosky glens. I've read two good reviews.
