In response to Maud as Persephone? Interesting (nfm), written by Cassia on October 22, 1997 at 18:51:41

]Interesting tie-in. My recollection of mythology is pretty pathetic and I can't seem to find the book I had in college. She's the daughter of Zeus/Jupiter and Demeter/Ceres, right, and is dragged off to live in the Underworld by Pluto/x-man (can't think of the Greek one).
The important point is that she is associated with a lush garden, right? What else?

I know that both Browning and Swinburne wrote poems about the Garden of Proserpina, which our Randolph has as well. Maybe I should take another look at this as well.
