I don't know her name, but the actress I see as Val played Scarlett (no, not O'Hara), Hugh Grant's roomie in "Three Weddings and a Funeral." Don't ask me why, but I just see her with that chopped off hair, kind of retro-outrageous dressing (pre-Euan). Maybe it was the messy lifestyle they led that kind of reminded me of her.
BTW, the Richardson sisters have both the hair and the height to be Maud.
Also, the main action between Christabel and Randolph took place when he was 41 years old and she was 34. If that helps any in casting.
