] Yes, bathrooms, indeed. Lady Bailey's bathroom reminds me so much of a bathroom at an old mansion we stayed in once, just out of Edinburgh, Scotland. It had similar toilet and basin, white china covered completely with blue floral patterns. The bath itself was amazing, too....a freestanding thing with the tub enclosed with walls on three sides, and a range of buttons to press to select from which angle... any!.. you wanted to be squirted from. The mansion itself was cold and draughty and cost a fortune to heat (again like in the book). My husband and I got locked out of the place after midnight one night, with our baby being looked after inside (well, I have always been dubious that anyone would have heard if he had in fact woken up!). We gingerly knocked, then it came down to hammering, pulling on the bell, and throwing stones at the windows, all to no avail! Eventually one of us had to drive to the nearest village and phone the house, and after about 50 rings the old mother, who lived in annex came to the door!
