] While I do agree that Roland isn't a collector the way that Cropper is, I do beleive he needs to possess the letter while he is on his quest. Like many other heros he must have a talisman in order to make his journey-in his case the letters. They serve him as well as any lance or sword ever served on of Arthur's lot. If they hever bother to film this, and I don't hink they will, I picture a warm glowin light as he comes to the pages. Them Ash's voice appearing next to Roland ear say "Madam, ..." It would be electric.
I love how your movie opens!! I've never understood why they never made it into a movie (yeah, all the literary stuff goes out the window, but it's a great mystery/sleuthing/romance story). (BTW: I know you've seen my casting preferences.)

Invertabrates, such as worms, also have a crop and in Chapter 2, we find the following description:
Blackadder believed Cropper to have designs on those manuscripts lodged with, but not owned by, the British Library, and to be worming his way into the confidence and goodwill of the owners....
Can't help being such a textual analyst.
