Bizarre coincidences - how I got my copy of Possession

I think I've said that I have a copy of this in a box in Australia, but none here.

I'd been meaning to buy one all last week and just never got to a bookshop.

Yesterday evening I was walking home from work when I passed the university library - I'll borrow a copy I thought. When I checked on the catalogue the only copy was listed as missing. Well that was helpful.

So I walked out of the library and continued along West Fourth Street, which if anyone know NYC is often thronged with second hand book sellers.

I thought, I'll just have a look, I might be lucky. The first stall I looked at, the guy had packed up all his books except one, which was sitting right in the middle of the table. A hard back copy of Possession in perfect condition. Not a mark on it, and the dust jacket covered in plastic. $7.

quite strange, but very helpful!
