Exactly Hil, and it concerns me that some in this thread have taken to putting down our beloved Jane Austen in order to bolster Charlotte Bronte! It doesn't have to be one or the other, it is possible to enjoy both writers. ;-)

But I cannot help but wonder why those who feel that JA is preachy, cold, stilted, emotionless, etc, spend so much time at a site devoted to Austen! I never expected JA to be dissed in her own home. Is this to be endured? It shall not be! ;-)
