In response to Northanger Abbey read anyone??, written by Haley on October 15, 1997 at 18:51:01

] Hey all :) I was thinking of how fun it would be to do a group read of Northanger Abbey :) I have only read it once and I didn't much care for the first half of the novel... but I didn't really get it(I didn't get that it was a gothic parody, and I had never read a gothic.. so just plain didn't get it!:D)... I was as stupid as Katherine.. only in a different way :) and I think I need a Henry to help me out of my ignorance :) hee hee I wish :) but I would settle for my friends at Pemberley, if they wouldn't mind helping me find the humor of Northanger Abbey that I missed the first time around :)

Aye! Let's! I read the book, and I first liked it from the new tone, but I didn't quite understand some parts for the exact same reasons. Let us read this JA together!

You can count on my support;
Rachel
