Speaking of Jane's power, I just read an article in which Ciaran Hinds spoke of Rochester. He said

Rochester is a character a lot of women hold dear in their hearts, though, for the life of me, I can't understand why. He is self-centered, arrogant, haughty- a driven man. I'm not totally unromantic- though perhaps verging on cynical- but I suspect that once they were married Jane would have soon had him under her thumb. But then Rochester certianly deserved it!

What do you think? Would Jane, while continuing to call him "Master," rule the Rochester home? I think it likely...
