] These show CB's great interest in phrenology, which of course a lot of hooey, but it was a great fad of her day, and so interesting to me from that standpoint.
Ah, that explains CB's preoccupation with the shape of Rochester's head, which I always found odd. Sorting through some old family papers once I found a phrenological analysis of my great-grandfather. I must dig it out and see what his organ of adhesiveness was like!
