In response to I just love foreshadow!!, written by Nora on October 01, 1997 at 18:42:39
] I believe foreshadow to be one of the loveliest of all writing mechanisms. Only of course after you know what is going to happen in the end, makes it even more sweet!!! (otherwise it can be torment to the tragedy-hating reader) This is my third time reading Jane Eyre, and as some of you might already know, I am taking it extremely slow. I just love how Mr. Rochester says after Jane has slipped out of the first party in which she is ridiculed beyond belief; "Good night, my-" (or something to that effect)
The "Good Night, my-" is absolutely wonderful. I always forgive Rochester for everything, cause he does it all for love. And there are so many different occasions on which he betrays himself. When he confesses to having watched her with Adèle. Isn´t it just magical?...sigh.
