] you don't need to convince this jane austen worshipper to read her more, HOWEVER - darcy's, wentworth's &c are rare, but not as rare as a woman who'll fall fatally in love with them! c'mon now, ladies, if there's a sick puppy around, isn't HE the one that breaks the hearts? mind you, i think jane knows what SHE'S doing, and loves him anyway.



Does she have a choice? I am a very pragmatic person but I do believe at times strong emotions do get the better of the mind and rational thought.

Ofcourse, one does resolve to analysing ones feelings but the first series of reaction can place quite devoid of the mind- so does jane have a choice/ not unlike darcy, who resolved not to think of elizabeth.....................
