Rochester, Darcy , and cruelty

Mark, I thought the same thing. But then I told myself that I was being silly, seeing a P&P connection in this and almost every love story I've seen lately.

I think that Rochester was definitely being cruel to Jane from flaunting Blanche in her face, to expecting to have noone realize this would have been a bigamous marriage.

His tragic story is very heart-rending, but still doesn't justify his cruelty, IMHO at least.
