Pretty and plain.

it for me in the 1944 version(too much of a babe). sam morton is very pretty, if you ask me, so i'll be interested to see how she creates that dichotomy between inner beauty and outer plainness that jane's supposed to have. charlotte gainsbourg was an ingenious choice in this respect, imo. hard to find such a good actress that fits the part so well. she's who i see when i imagine jane eyre.
Well, I`ve seen the new version (don´t worry, I won´t reveal a thing) and Sam Morton is indeed quite beautiful, but she does have her utterly plain moments. Specially when she´s not smiling. I LOVE her smile.
