Blanche Ingram--was that in the best taste, Rochester? The only time I really thought bad of him was when he put Jane through the ringer by parading Blanche Ingram in front of her. That was cruel, without meaning to be so. Why did he really think he had to do that? Did he really doubt her affections for him that much?

Was that OK of him, or what?
