Rochester's Fourth Mistress--Jane Eyre?!?

You know in Chapter 27, when Rochester tells Jane of his mistresses, and she has that paragraph, "I felt the truth of these words . . . that if I went so far to forget myself . . . to become the sucessor of these poor girls, he would one day regard me wiht the same feeling which now in his mind desecrated their memory." Do you think he would have despised her?
I think that eventually, over a long period of time, he would eventually lose his respect for her, and he would have (possibly, still;) left her. What do you think?
