In response to why does miss t smile during this tragedy?, written by greg on September 27, 1997 at 00:57:35

] when brocklehurst orders the hair to be cut from the first class(ch.7), "miss temple passed her handkerchief over her lips, as if to smooth away the involuntary smile that curled them...". WHY IS SHE SMILING???

Could it be that Miss Temple is smiling at Mr. Brocklehurst's foolish belief that Julia Severn's curly hair is willful disobedience?
