I was wondering how many first time readers of Jane Eyre were doing this group read with us. I've read it before, but still couldn't put the book down. I kept my husband up last night with the bedroom light so that I could finish it!!! I tried to read it slowly so that I could take everything in, but I'm not sure how much I succeeded.

I like how JE tells us she won't bore us with the details of when she stayed at Lowood as teacher. There are other places in the book where she does this, too, and it makes you feel like she is just sitting there next to you telling you her life story. She keeps to the important parts, and doesn't embellish things that aren't important to the story.

Lynn
who's thinking she might go back and reread the Thornfield stuff along with the rest of the group!
