] One thing I like about the book is that Jane doesn't hate herself because she does not feel she is like the people she admires - another very positive characteristic.

Exactly my favorite thing about Jane...while she admire's Helen, she realized she could never be like Helen. I've always thought that Helen somehow knew she wouldn't live long and that's what made her so serene.
