I loved the book and the musical!

Sure! I read the book after seeing the musical in London. I felt so "under the POTO spell". I´ve always loved the story-even though it was somehow "sweetened" for the musical-but who cares?-and Phantom is an incredibly lonely and heartbreaking character. One other thing I liked is that Christine is a plucky young woman in the book and not just a wimp. I have the CD, too, with Michael Crawford`s incredible voice. Wow!... Just brilliant. Both the novel and the musical.
