travolta as phantom/Les Mis group read?

I've seen "Les Miserables" on PBS once - I'd love to see POTO on it too. Also, I heard that POTO is supposed to become a film. Anyone know anything more about it?
i've heard rumours that Mr. Travolta has been asked to play the Phantom. that should be interesting.
and i know i shouldn't continue this thread on here, but the PBS production of Les Miserables is NOTHING compared to the real thing...it's so painful to watch after experiencing it live. so i kinda hope they don't do the same for Phantom.
and yes, other than JA, my obsessions is Les Mis. i was going to suggest the novel as a group read, since the new movie is coming out soon, but i'm afraid it may be too dry, and we're all ready backed up as it is.
but i guess it's something to keep in mind. it's a wonderful novel...though i suggest the condenced version though...vic really needed a better editor... :)
