] I am so glad that there's some else willing to step forward with a dislike of the Brontes! When I read Jane Eyre for the first time when I was about 14, I loved it, it was the same when I read Wuthering Heights a year later. I had to re- read both for a couse and was suprised find that both of them left a sour taste in my mouth.

I agree completely. Austen creates such realistic characters, but the Bronte's characters are silly and stupid. I don't like the anything-for-love premise of the their work, and I thought Jane Eyre was simply poorly written.
