In response to Definition of "Bertramite", written by Michelle K. on September 17, 1997 at 06:56:34

[ ... I used the word "Bertramite", for lack of a better term, to describe my support for Fanny and Edmund. I must say that I am more enthusiastic for Fanny than I am for Edmund. I do like Edmund, but I also got a little frustrated with him that he didn't wake up and notice Mary's weakness and Fanny's strength sooner than he actually did.

] I must say that I reallly like H.C.'s initial "Fannyite" post very much (although I still prefer to call myself a Bertramite, since I like both Fanny and Edmund and think they belong together). I think he had it just right about what Fanny is looking for, and that Henry is the last person on Earth who could give that to her.

________

I totally agree with HC and MK and, the material point with JA/big> as she wrote the book.
