] I am a Crawfordite because I can imagine Henry getting Fanny to laugh, joke and have a good time for the first time in her life. I cannot imagine Edmund doing this. Passion may be a great thing, but a sense of humour never dies.
I can see him getting her to laugh, but when he starts running around with other women again, the pain of the tears would far outweigh the joy of the laughs!
