I can only speak for myself but frankly, no. I am a Crawfordite because I can imagine Henry getting Fanny to laugh, joke and have a good time for the first time in her life. I cannot imagine Edmund doing this. Or Mr. Rochester or Heathcliff, for that matter, accomplishing this either. Passion may be a great thing, but a sense of humour never dies.
