Yes indeed, I sympathize with both Fanny Price and Jane Eyre, and I don't think they're quite as dissimilar characters as some people might think. Charlotte Brontė herself, you know, was painfully shy. I like all three of Charlotte Brontė's mature novels (Jane Eyre, Shirley, and Villette, in their different ways, and also the one novel of Anne's that I've read (Agnes Grey). It is true, though, that Wuthering Heights doesn't really do that much for me...
