Patience! I just bought it this afternoon.
I have only read through his flogging (ick!). Captain Morris is pretty evil, but of course, doesn't come close to Hakeswill--those two really are in cahoots. I hope Cornwell writes the book where Sharpe goes after Morris, as he swore he would do.
So far we have been introduced to Lawford (nice guy, of course), Hakeswill (devil incarnate), Wellington (who stops the flogging 1800 lashes short of the full sentence), and Pvt. Tom Garrard (who ran into Sharpe in Almeida shortly before Sharpe did his thing in "Sharpe's Gold".)
