For purely selfish reasons, IMO. Notice how Henry made a point of making sure he was the one to tell Fanny of William's promotion, and that he was responsible for it.
Oh, and concerning your opinion of us Bertramites--I think I'm safe in speaking for my fellow Bertramites by saying that we think the same way about Crawfordites (respectfully disagree--they have the right to their opinion if though they are wrong :) ).
