] ] ...therefore, Miss Emma Woodhouse has ordered me to ask you...." what are your most/least favorite scenes/lines from the movie(s) or book?
] ] My favorite scene is the proposal from Emma3, and subdividing that, it is the spot where Emma "stops him ungraciously" and he is looking down. I don't know what it is, but the dark eyelashes against his dark face with his dark hair (and I don't care about his high forehead!!!!) just makes me fall in love with him.
] ] My least favorite scene is the proposal from Emma2. (I know, I know, you Emma2ers think I ought to be pistol-whipped.) But, it is just too different from the book for my liking.

] OK you asked for it Kathy! :o)
] Even though "I am an old married" woman Kathy, I will oblige!
] My favorite scene is the Emma2, "Leaving for John and Isabella's" scene. Its that Northam Magic at work again, when he gives her that exquisite look when she says, "I wish I was here sooner, so we could have talked." The man just melts me with that one glance (and double take!).
] My favorite line...(a toss up) "Brother and Sister? No! Indeed we are not." OR "Marry me, my wonderful darling friend." Again, with just a few words and expressions Northam manages to rob me of all my faculties! The man can act!
]
] My least favorite scene is also from Emma2 - the "I love John! I hate John!" scene in the Weston's garden. Yuck! Where on earth did they conceive of this piece of trash? It almost seems to be (after seeing the trailers) that they threw it in for the sake of promoting the movie. However, I do like the part just before it where Emma confesses her feelings to Mrs. Weston. It is the "John" discussion that I must FF thru every time!
] Least favorite line: "Try not to kill my dogs." I think more than anything I dislike that scene, so the line automatically qualifies.

I have to laugh when I think how opposite my opinions are from yours... Although JN wins my vote for the best 'Mr. Knightly' I do not care for his "brother sister.." line, it seemed very unnatural... it seems like he should have said it right as soon as he thought it(used as a response, like in Emma 3)...Or since in Emma2 they didn't want Emma to hear him...IMHO I think it would have been more effective if they zoomed in on him and had him just think it, with only the audience to hear his thoughts(like Emma praying), rather than have his dance partner walk away from him so that he could utter it under his breath... because I think it odd that Emma would walk away rather than wait for Him to escort her to the dance floor. I think this is my biggest pet peeve with Emma2 (and it shows!;-D) and probably the only part where I like Emma3 better.
Also one of my very favorite parts is the "I love John, I hate John..."scene, I thought GP's acting here superb... as I always laugh and cry here... maybe because the emotions she shows here I have often felt myself...confused, upset and my mind going to wild imaginations thinking what if this and what if that...Guess it just touches a heartstring... (even though I know it's in the book ;-)
But there is one where we agree perfectly "Marry me, my wonderful darling friend"!!! Lovely just lovely!!
