I agree about Mr Woodhouse - much the best in Emma1. He was far too robust in Emma2 and (if I remember rightly) even WELCOMED Emma and MrK's marriage. I also LOVED Miss Bates, Mrs Elton and Frank Churchill in Emma1 - found neither of the other Franks satisfactory. Jane Fairfax was disappointing, however - I loved her in Emma3. So, as always I guess, the ideal cast is a bit from here and a bit from there.
