Well, I'm not sure about anyone else Kali, but I have AOL and Netscape and it just doesn't work properly. Some posts get through and others don't -- most of the time I don't know which will and which won't until I reload the BB. I know AOL stinks, I'm just being lackadasical about changing servers.
AOL is okay, but sometimes intervening circumstances render it unusable. Are you on version 3.0? And if you're on a Mac, some Operating Systems (7.5.2, I think) will cause certain programs to crash or won't let you open them, even if there is plenty of memory available. This is a problem I had for a time on my dad's computer, which limited my use of Netscape and also gave me problems with the AOL browser.
Also, I want to reitorate that the new "Emma Digest: Mailing List" is not to be a replacement by any means to *any* of these boards. I have been using them now more than ever (despite all the problems) and I will continue to do so.. plus I will encourage the Digest group to do the same. We have a lot of new people who I found are not on the BB, I am making a point of directing them here as well!
I'm sure nobody has a moral problem with this. I'm merely worried that several people who'd like to participate here are being left out. Browser problems shouldn't have to leave folks out in the cold. Please direct these people to me (e-mail above and at the bottom of the main board page) so we can get them on and posting. I'll talk to Kaf about what we can do...
