Hi Trina...nice to meet ya! Your analysis was very well-thought-out (not to mention, I generally agree with you!). I liked what you said in particular about the buildup of Jane's arrival in Emma2...we get the letter ad nauseum in true Batesian captive-audience style, as well as a good look at how Emma really feels about Jane - without the pressure of her immediate presence in town ("That Ninny!" to herself, and the slick dismissal, "When pressed, I say she is elegant," for the consumption of her little friend Harriet).
