] He was not supposed to be charming--he was sober and somber, thinking about his poor lost love Eliza, and mourning the chain of events that made him lose her. I thought AR played the role of the unrequited lover very well. So well, in fact, that I don't even want to watch any of his "bad-guy" movies. :-)
