] A different actor plays the part of Josh. Just as a different actress plays the part of Cher. You were seeing a special episode in which Paul Rudd played a different character "Sonny" (get it? Sonny and Cher?).
Too funny -- there seem to be a lot of pop culture references (usually to old tv shows) in today's sitcoms!
] The series in addition to having some of the original cast members from the film clueless, from time to time features guest appearances from some of the other original actors only playing different parts.
Thanks for the info, Ramona. I didn't know much about the series, other than the lead actress was not the same as in the movie.
