] ] Does it irritate anyone that Emma2 is quite different from the book in certain places? I personally thought it was a great movie, I loved the casting, the way it was filmed, the humour, Jeremy Northam ;-), but the only thing that really annoyed me was the distance in some parts from the book. Comments, anyone?

]And, finally, what the &$%# was going on in their minds when they filmed the gypsy scene? There are a lot of things I would have done differently, no matter how much I loved the movie.
] Having said that, I must say that I LOVED the movie and would watch it any day of the week. It has a hold on me like no other movie I've ever watched. Jeremy is magic as Mr. Knightley and I loved Gwyneth as Emma (I know there's some debate as to her effectiveness, but I thought she was perfect). Despite its' imperfections, I truly loved this flick.

ditto for me, betsy - word for word - except i wouldn't go so far as to say "it has a hold on me like no other movie". Emma3 comes closer, i think. for both movies, however, most thanks go to ja for such a great story.
